Fancy dipping your toes in the water, exploring the Loosdrecht Lakes on a SUP, or renting a boat for a sailing adventure? Water lovers and aspiring captains won't have to look far. There are plenty of places around Hilversum to cool off, get out on the water and enjoy a summer's day.
De Zuwe
At De Zuwe, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural waters of Wijde Blik. Bring a picnic, find a spot on the grass, and take in the wide-open views across the lake. As the water becomes deep quite quickly, this swimming spot is less suitable for young children. Several marinas can be found nearby, making it easy to moor your boat or rent one for a relaxing day out on the water.
De Zuwe can be reached via the service road alongside Vreelandseweg (N201), where parking is available.
Loosdrecht Lakes
The Loosdrecht Lakes are home to several islets where you can moor your boat and take a refreshing dip. Along the shoreline, you'll also find a number of pleasant swimming spots, including Vuntus Beach. With both a sandy beach and a grassy area, it's a great place to cool off on a warm day. The water slopes gently, making it suitable for families with children. On sunny days, you might even spot the ice cream boat passing by.
Around Spiegelplas
The shores of Spiegelplas in Nederhorst den Berg are dotted with small swimming spots and a charming little island. Take a refreshing dip at the beach near Googpad, relax by the lakeside beach or enjoy the water at the Spiegelplas paddling pool.
De Strook
A wonderful spot for swimming, picnicking and playing by the lakes in Breukeleveen. Children can enjoy the playground equipment, while the nearby pavilion is the perfect place to grab a drink, a bite to eat or an ice cream on a sunny day.
