This Halloween, Hilversum transforms into one big spooky town filled with haunted houses, creepy gardens and children in fantastic costumes. From pumpkin fun for younger children to spine-chilling haunted houses for brave visitors, you decide just how scary you want your Halloween to be.

Follow the route past participating homes and look out for a pumpkin or light by the front door. That’s how you know trick-or-treaters are welcome. The special Hilversum Halloween map shows all participating addresses and will be published one week before Halloween, giving you plenty of time to plan your own spooky route.

Want to turn your own home into a haunted house? Decorate your front door, garden or house and register your address with Hilversum Halloween. Once registered, your address will be added to the Halloween map. A pumpkin and a light by the door are enough to show children they are welcome. Want to go all out? Add cobwebs, skeletons, spooky sounds, smoke or lighting effects.

Stock up on treats for your young visitors and consider offering vegetarian, gluten-free or lactose-free options too. Then put on your best costume and get ready for Halloween. Princess, dragon, witch or zombie: anything goes!
