Guided tour Townhall Hilversum
until 7 March 2022
Townhall (W.M. Dudok)
The Town Hall in Hilversum (1931) is the culmination of the work of Willem Marinus Dudok. In its striking composition of horizontal and vertical solid shapes, it is not just a building but a monumental sculpture. It was built between 1928-1931 at the edge of Hilversum city centre. The interior is as impressive as the exterior: an inspiring interplay of space, design, decor, light, colour and materials. The Dudok Architecture Centre (DAC) is located in the basement of this, now world-famous, Town Hall. The DAC exhibition space provides an overview of the work of Dudok, who joined the municipality of Hilversum on 1 July 1915. Visitors can take a tour of the entire building under the guidance of our well-informed and enthusiastic guides, and also to see Dudok’s other architectural works around Hilversum.
Regular guided tours

At the end of the tour, weather permitting, you can also climb the tower. If the weather is clear, the 47-metre-high tower offers a magnificent view of up to 30 km away.
Start of the tour: Thursday – Sunday at 1.30 pm. Booking in advance is not required. However, for groups of 6 or more people, please let us know at least 24 hours before your visit (email@example.com).
