Beeld & Geluid (Sound & Vision) is where the world of media comes together. Whether you're a museum visitor curious about how media works, a student attending a workshop on fake news, an editor searching for footage for a TV programme, an artist creating something new from archival material or a researcher exploring diversity in the media, there's something here for everyone.
Beeld & Geluid is home to one of the world's largest media archives, preserving everything from radio and television programmes to videos, video games, newspapers, political cartoons, GIFs, websites and historical objects.
The colourful building is a real eye-catcher on Hilversum's skyline. Designed by Neutelings Riedijk Architects, its striking glass façade features panels created by artist Jaap Drupsteen. Look closely and you'll discover that each panel depicts a scene from Dutch television history.
Step inside the impressive Atrium and you'll be greeted by the Wall of Fame, featuring award-winning and other well-known media personalities immortalised on glass panels. Beneath the entrance bridge, a dramatic canyon-like space houses the extensive media archives.
