Discover the Orchard and Nursery at Soestdijk

Saturday 12 October

Did you know that Paleis Soestdijk has an orchard and a nursery? The almost 1 hectare of land is located opposite the Palace on the Parade. For generations, apples, pears, walnuts, berries, and flowers, among other things, were grown for the royal family. The Parade has been an integral part of the Soestdijk Palace estate for hundreds of years. This former 'little village' of the palace, which houses the garage, the stables, the Intendant's house, housing for the staff and the nursery and orchard, will continue to form part of the entire estate in the future.

Admire the seasons

In the spring you can admire the blossom here. In the summer you can pick your own bunch of flowers for a small price. Naturally non-toxic. All income is used for the maintenance and development of the Nursery and Orchard. Discover how the insects enjoy the sea of flowers and listen to the stories of IVN experts. The Nursery is also open for a few days in September and October, where you can pick apples and pears, and perhaps you can also taste nuts and roast sweet chestnuts!

The Boomgaard and Kwekerij are - a bit hidden behind old beech hedges - opposite the Palace on the other side of the Amsterdamsestraatweg in Baarn, next to the Praamgracht. Come by bike if possible. There is very limited parking.
