9 Lunas | Rainbow Night

What if your life finally seems to be falling into place, only for one unexpected discovery to change everything? In 9 Lunas, Ángel is about to complete his transition. He has landed his dream job as a personal trainer and is looking to the future with confidence. Until he discovers he is pregnant.

The pregnancy turns his life upside down. As the months pass, Ángel is forced to rethink his future, his identity and what masculinity means to him. How do you stay true to yourself when your body and other people’s expectations confront you with new questions?

Director Patricia Ortega tells a warm and deeply human story about identity, family and self-acceptance. With humour and empathy, 9 Lunas shows how unexpected changes can bring not only uncertainty, but new insights as well.
