Blood Bonds
Fotomuseum Hilversum, every day
In this powerful exhibition, photographer Jan Banning and journalist Dick Wittenberg show how victims and perpetrators in Rwanda attempt to coexist three decades after genocide. Through striking double portraits, survivors stand side by side with those who personally inflicted harm on them. The images and stories reveal pain, courage and humanity, offering a hopeful perspective on reconciliation, resilience and recovery.
Language Walk
Hilversum Library, January 5 & 8
Get to know new people and discover Hilversum in an easy, relaxed way. Language learners and Dutch-speaking locals walk together and chat along the route. You practise the Dutch language while moving through the neighbourhood and paying attention to everything around you. Afterwards you enjoy a drink together and briefly reflect on what you learned. It’s a friendly, accessible way to practise your Dutch and connect with others.
