Welcome Sinterklaas to Hilversum
Sunday 15 November
Here comes Sinterklaas! Watch as Sinterklaas and his Pieten arrive in Hilversum by boat and join in the celebrations. The afternoon kicks off with the interactive children’s show Waar is de Sint?! Ria Roze and Wil Duikbril are waiting for Sinterklaas together with all the children. But where is he? Sing, dance, and call out as loudly as you can to help bring Sinterklaas to Hilversum.
At around 1:45 pm, the big moment arrives: Sinterklaas and his Pieten sail into the Oude Haven. The mayor and children’s mayor officially welcome him to the city. Afterwards, the festive parade makes its way through Hilversum towards the town centre. Find a good spot along the route and enjoy the music and all the cheerful Pieten passing by.
This year’s arrival is even more colourful thanks to the Flag Parade. Make your own flag at home, bring it with you and wave it proudly as Sinterklaas passes. Put on your favourite Sinterklaas outfit and join in the fun!
Programme
1:00 pm – Start of the Sinterklaas celebrations and children’s show at the Oude Haven
1:45 pm – Arrival of Sinterklaas and official welcome
2:15 pm – Start of the parade through Hilversum
Around 4:00 pm – End of the parade
Parade route, subject to change: Oude Haven → Hilvertsweg → Neuweg → Gijsbrecht van Amstelstraat → Bosdrift → Havenstraat → Vaartweg → Kerkbrink → Kerkstraat → Groest → Marktplein.
