Fancy a great story on the big screen? Then Filmtheater Hilversum is the place to be this month. Dive into a world of exclusive premieres, cult classics, documentaries and fascinating conversations about extraterrestrial life during the UFO Film Festival. Or be among the first to discover the films of the new season during the Cineville Preview Days. Each screening room has its own colour and character, making it easy to find your way around the intimate cinema. And if you're lucky, you might just snag one of the cosy loveseats in the Boutique Theatre.

Groeneveld Estate, July 3 until 5

Immerse yourself in a weekend of music, nature and relaxation at the beautiful Groeneveld Estate in Baarn during Wonderfeel. Set among lush greenery, the festival features more than one hundred performances, ranging from classical masterpieces to surprising crossovers with jazz, pop and world music. Spread out a blanket on the grass, listen to inspiring stories or join a yoga session. There’s plenty for children to enjoy too, with a special programme packed with fun activities. Best of all, children up to and including 18 years old get free admission.

Wisseloord Studios, July 5

Experience a lively Sunday afternoon of live music in one of the Netherlands’ most iconic studios. During Sunday Sessions, you’re right at the heart of it all, witnessing live recordings up close. Discover new sounds and enjoy three unique sets in an intimate setting where everything feels real and within reach. This edition features the Danish-Dutch trio Subterranean Street Society and rising Dutch singer-songwriter Mathilde Bloom.

On Monday 6 July, children aged 4 to 9 can join the Chit-Chats Calm Club at the library. During this interactive workshop filled with stories, creativity and mindfulness, children learn playful ways to deal with busy thoughts and big emotions. A summer of reading, discovering, building and creating awaits!

Circus Snor

Buiten in de Kuil, July 17 until 19

Are your kids crazy about the circus, or do they dream of stepping into the ring themselves one day? Then Circus Snor, Dutch for “Circus Mustache”, is a must-see! At the beautiful outdoor venue of Buiten in de Kuil in Lage Vuursche, you’ll enjoy a cheerful and family-friendly show packed with surprises. This year, one of the performers unveils a brand-new act, while the latest production, Unboxed, brings together a colourful cast of artists from all over the world.

The fun doesn’t stop when the curtain comes down. Before the show and during the interval, children can head to the Kids Caravan to try circus tricks, play games and even get a Snor-style mustache painted on their face. Don’t be surprised if they leave wanting to join the circus themselves.

Mediterranean Food Festival

Take your taste buds on a journey around the Mediterranean at Dudokpark. Wander past atmospheric food trucks and market stalls and discover dishes from across the region. Sunday Roast & Toast

Zonnestraal Vineyard, July 26

Spend the final weekend of the month among the vines at the Zonnestraal Vineyard. Gather around the table for a relaxed Sunday afternoon of good food, fine wine and great company. This edition is all about sharing, featuring a whole smoked salmon and a slow-roasted leg of lamb, served alongside fresh bread, colourful salads and flavourful side dishes.
