September puts Hilversum’s food scene in the spotlight! Head out on one of the Food Walks and taste Hilversum at its best. From fresh summer bites to flavours from around the world, every route is packed with delicious surprises. On selected dates, take a tasty tour through the lively city centre, go on a culinary journey around the world along Havenstraat, or choose one of the deli walks on Gijsbrecht for an afternoon filled with delicious treats. Or even better: try them all and discover just how diverse and delicious Hilversum can be!

R&B Brunch

Your Coffee Gijsbrecht, September 6

Start your Sunday with soulful music, great company and delicious food at the R&B Brunch at Your Coffee on the charming Gijsbrecht. Settle in for a relaxed afternoon and enjoy a three-course brunch while live artist Omri AlphA provides the perfect soundtrack. Whether you’re there for the music, the food or a bit of both, expect plenty of good vibes and great company.

Open Monument Days

Various locations, September 12 & 13

See Hilversum from a whole new perspective during the Open Monument Days. Around forty unique buildings and hidden gems open their doors, including places you normally wouldn’t get to visit. Step inside, look around and enjoy a programme of live music, art, theatre and stories along the way.

There’s plenty more to discover throughout the weekend. On Saturday evening, Speaking Façades fills the city with light, music and stories. On Sunday, the lawn next to the Town Hall comes alive with a family festival full of fun activities for kids and grown-ups.

Students, hit the walls!

Monk Hilversum, every day

New academic year, new challenge? Head to Monk and give bouldering a go. Throughout September, students climb for just €9.50 per session, with shoe rental included. Never tried bouldering before? No problem. With more than 200 routes for all levels and new ones added every week, there’s always something to tackle. Done climbing? Grab a drink and hang out in the café or on the sunny terrace.

Patat Met Soul

De Vorstin, September 18

Patat Met Soul – a playful take on the Dutch ‘patatje met’ (fries with mayo) – serves up emerging soul, R&B and funk talent alongside a classic portion of Dutch fries. Discover tomorrow’s stars as Kasper Nova x ParHasard, Swan and WAZO BEAN take to the stage at De Vorstin. Expect fresh sounds, groovy beats and energetic live performances.

Start your Sunday with a special morning preview at Filmtheater Hilversum. Tuck into a delicious breakfast buffet, then settle into the Blue Cinema for an exclusive early screening of the new French feel-good film Juste une illusion.

De Vioolkist, September 24

After the summer break, this much-loved singer-songwriter night returns to De Vioolkist. Settle in for an intimate evening of personal stories and acoustic music, with the artists performing up close. Margot Merah, Iris Jean and Mark Lotterman take to the stage with stripped-back sounds, heartfelt songs and music that truly resonates.
