Firework & laser show

Laapersveld Park, May 5

On 5 May, we celebrate the liberation of the Netherlands. As tradition goes, Liberation Day in Hilversum is brought to a close with a spectacular fireworks and laser show at Laapersveld Park, next to Sportpark station. At 10:30 PM, the night sky lights up with colour and fireworks as a festive finale to the day.

Join this scenic and sporty walk along the Voetstappenpad, one of the oldest marked trails in the Netherlands. This famous loop around Hilversum is a must for nature lovers. Along the way, you’ll find several rest stops, stamping points and everything you need for a great day out. You can choose from four different routes.

Afrikadag Festival

Oude Haven Park, May 30 

On Saturday May 30, city park Oude Haven transforms into a lively African setting. Enjoy energetic live music, taste delicious dishes and explore inspiring cultural activities that bring the rich and diverse African heritage to life. Be surprised by dazzling performances, browse a lively market full of crafts and unique products, and discover the authentic flavours of African cuisine.

Can’t wait that long? Kick things off on Friday May 29, with a special evening programme at the library featuring live music, poetry and personal stories.

Garden Fair

Pinetum Blijdenstein, May 30
